C47 Dakota Plane Wreck

The C-47 Dakota military transport plane, sunk in a controlled manner in 2009 to revive diving tourism, awaits divers at Bayındır Port. Lying on a flat sandy bottom at a depth of approximately 20 meters, the plane largely preserves its integrity.

This huge metal structure with a wingspan of 29 meters and a length of 20 meters has become a home for sea creatures in a short time. Entering the plane, taking photos in the cockpit and watching the light filtering through the window holes is a unique experience.

Thanks to its reasonable depth, it is also accessible for Open Water (Beginner) level divers. Especially if you are interested in underwater photography, the Dakota plane offers you the opportunity to capture iconic shots.
